Where to Buy Japanese DVDs Online

July 9th, 2008 by Tokyoites Leave a reply »

We often get enquiries from eBay users asking where they can buy Japanese DVDs of titles featured in our Chirashi, so here’s a quick guide for all of you wanting to buy DVDs released in Japan online.
Remember that all discs will be Region 2, NTSC. Not all titles have English subtitles so be sure to check the listings carefully.

Amazon.co.jp
Did you know that you can order from Amazon.co.jp in English? Just click the ‘In English’ link in the top right corner of the blue header.

HMV Japan
HMV Japan also take orders from overseas and have an English site. Their search results are a bit more English-friendly than Amazon’s. Also great for Japan-only CD releases like papersleeves!

CDJapan
100% English site. Company based in Tokyo. The ‘Edition Details’ on each listing page make it easy to see if the DVD you’re buying has English audio or subtitles. Good for Anime DVDs.

Hope this helps!
